We're Moving........How Sweet it is!

It's time. Blogger served us Scorpios well, but we're moving to something we can call OUR OWN.

Staci and her Scorpios will be moving from Blogger, to a self-hosted Wordpress platform. WOOOOHOOOOOOO.

It's happening on May 22, 2013. Yup, that's Wednesday. THIS WEDNESDAY.

With the help of Elaine Griffin Designs, and a whole lot of support from the husband, and kids........I bid a goodbye to Staci and her Scorpios on Blogspot.

AND HELLO GORGEOUS to StaciandherScorpios.com.

Just be patient during the moving process. Visit on Facebook, I'll be updating you there if we run into any issues.

My kids might be eating brownies laced with crazy sauce

Both of my children made fantastic Mother's Day gifts, as well as cards. Just look at that World's Best Mommy certificate Little Miss made me on the computer at school! Total horseshit, but I'll take it while I can get it.

As of Mother's Day 2013, I hadn't done their laundry in two weeks, the bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in a week (like the good, deep clean, not just the surface cleaning,) and our kitchen floor was a shade darker in color than normal. The rest of the house hadn't seen the vacuum since last Friday.

Yeah, that's right my friends, World's Best Mommy at her finest!

However, let's not focus on the lack of effort on my part leading up to the day that honors "moms." Let's focus on the day itself, shall we?

On Mother's Day morning I opened up The Boy's gift, a beautiful glass coaster, that he customized with a finger print purple flower inserted into the back of the glass. It's beautiful. I then read his card, and realized my son might be eating brownies laced with crazy sauce.

In the card he wrote that we bake brownies together.....

Now, I know he knows what baking means, because he does this with his Daddy all the time. I know he hasn't confused mommy BUYING brownies together, with BAKING brownies together. All I can think is he meant we "ate brownies together," or he's been eating brownies laced with some kind of crazy sauce.

Okay, I'll go with the teachers probably misunderstood him. Figured he meant baking, because, you know, all moms bake, right? They apparently have no clue who I am. They have met me, they should already know it's best if I stay out of the kitchen!

Now, if this wasn't enough to make me scratch my head, my daughter made amazing cards, and a variety of things in her first grade class. One of the items she made had little things about why she loved me. Awesome answers, even if one of them is total bullshit.

She loves me because I'm the best cook in the world.

I'll give you a minute so you can collect yourself off the floor, or run to the bathroom to pee from the laughter.

TICK, TOCK. TICK, TOCK. We all back now? Okay, so I looked at her and asked "really, best cook in the world?" She kind of giggled.

All I can think is that she was eating the same brownies, perhaps with hallucinogens? Perhaps she believes all that pasta I boil up is hand made? No clue. Then she piped up and said "I liked that chicken with mushrooms you made."

OOOHHHHH, it all clicked. I had been doing the Slimmer book review, and made a chicken a la creme dish from the book. It's actually SUPER delicious. Even when I make it.

Apparently, she had that on her mind when she was creating her card. Makes sense......she's kind of giving me a boost for my ego, perhaps to inspire me to continue the cooking streak I was on.

Unfortunately, that first week caused me to gain weight, so now I'm stuck losing not just my 10 pounds of winter weight, but now another 5 pounds on top of that. I might insert some of the meals into my Isagenix regime....but that means my husband has to buy more chicken.

As for The Boy.......well, I'm still not quite sure what was going on in his mind........this Mom has never baked him brownies, nor have we baked any together.

I'm scared to know what else goes on in his mind.......guess we'll find out with the next holiday, Father's Day. What will he say about Daddy on his card?

Are you waiting with anticipation? NOOO? Why not? This shit's about to get real!

Day 5 - Slimmer: The New Mediterranean Way to Lose Weight

Seriously, I enjoy some of the foods I've made with this book. However, it's just too much time to do it. I'm sure people who are use to cooking two meals a day, or eating like this, find the book fantastic. The food tastes good, I'm glad I've learned a few new items to actually cook.

I'm just not into it.

It's Day 5. My breakfast was basically the same, only this time I had Turkey Bacon. Did you  know Turkey Bacon tastes surprisingly similar to regular bacon? I had no idea. Thanks to this book, I now know! Score one for me! A healthier alternative to bacon.

Lunch was Pasta Primavera. I liked it. The recipe had a lot of great flavor, it was super easy to throw together, since my husband made the broccoli for me last night, and we had a frozen Turkey breast in the freezer. It had been cooked, so I just had to defrost it. Perfect.

Day 5 is ending now. I'm going to drink an Isalean Pro shake from Isagenix, because it's just easier, I feel good on Isagenix, and it's just more my style. Ooohhh, yeah, I also lose weight with Isagenix. Unfortunately, with this book, I gained weight. Super not happy about that. It's May, I'm trying to release fat, not gain it, for Summer. Now I've got to work harder to get rid of this weight, plus the weight I put on over the winter (on purpose, because I have to be honest, being under 125 in the winter I just get too dang cold.)

Now I have to shed 15 pounds, instead of the 10 pounds I had planned on........ANNOYING.

At least now I have some great meals to take from the book for the lunches I will eat while I do a 30 Day Nutritional Cleanse with my favorite nutritional meals from Isagenix: The Isalean Pro Vanilla. DELICIOUS, NUTRITIOUS, and no cooking required.

Sorry Slimmer: The New Mediterranean Way to Lose Weight.......it's not working out, we must part ways. But thanks for the great recipes for lunches while I'm back with my first love, Isagenix.

Peace out.

Day 5 - Slimmer: The New Mediterranean Way to Lose Weight - Postponed until tomorrow!

Brutal honesty? I've postponed Day 5 until tomorrow. I slept in this morning, had to get some major pictures PicMonkey-ed for my Tinker Bell post on November Sunflower. There's no way to work the day into this craziness.

Tinker Bell has Faithed. Trusted. And Pixie Dusted  me right out of today's meal plan.

Life goes on, we pick up again and day 5 will happen tomorrow.

So Happy Cinco De Mayo, my friends!

Hermit Crabs.....WTF?

In Prek, my daughter got to do a science section with Praying Mantises. LOVED IT. Everyone else in PreK at her school were doing butterflies. Equally cool to kids, and my daughter would have enjoyed. But come on?!!! How cool is a Praying Mantis?

I would have taken that bad boy home in a minute. However, they didn't allow that. They were let go into the world by the kids after they were hatched.

However, when it comes to anything else, well, my daughter knows me so well.....

Last year when her Kindergarten teacher spoke to the class about taking home one of the little lizard-type things they used during a science "section," my daughter told her teacher "Yeah, you don't have to send the paper home asking us to take one home. Answer's no."

Luckily, her teacher knew me well enough to know, Little Miss was SPOT ON with that observation.

First Grade has brought us the pleasure of Hermit Crabs. My daughter thinks they're cute. She'd seen one during a play date we had at her friend's house. The little girl had them in her Science program in First Grade, and told my daughter she got to take it home with her after the section ended. Awesome.

Well, low and behold, the kids got their hermit crabs in their classes. Everyone was talking about the requests sent home in their children's folders.....you know the request. The one begging parents to allow these little things to head home after this particular section of science ended.

Yeah, I never saw the request. I asked Little Miss about it. Her answer?

"Mrs. [First Grade Teacher's name here], she put it in my mailbox at school to bring home. I told her you'd never go for it, but she insisted I bring it home. So I put it in my folder, then when we got home, I just pulled it out and chucked it in the paper recycling box."

And she was on her merry way.

My daughter knows me so well. I love it. My son? He'd have thrown a tantrum and insisted we bring one home. Night and Day at it's finest.

Hermit crabs....WTF? Bring on the Praying Mantises!

Day 4 - Slimmer: The New Mediterranean Way to Lose Weight

Oh, sweet Saturday.....how I love to sleep in on your fantastic day.........sadly, not this Saturday. Big plans, packed day!

The Boy had a library program centered around Mother's Day. I thought it was suppose to be something we did together, but actually, I should have sent the husband with him. He made a gift and card to give me, but he's all upset that I've seen it already. WHOOPS.

Before the library program, I had my morning breakfast. Same old, same old. Almost the same exact thing as Day 1, with the toast having low fat cheese on it. It was fine. Nothing thrilling.

After the library program, The Boy and I split a Greek Yogurt. Then I got to cooking for my lunch, and also a little Marinara Sauce for not just tonight's dinner, but future dinners since it makes a couple of batches! WOOHOO. Gotta love that.

Being honest.......the lunch wasn't good. It didn't have anything to do with my cooking, it was just not something I liked. Lentils aren't a big one for me, but I tried it, ate it, and will now avoid that one if it shows up again in Cycle A, which lasts three weeks.

It was suppose to be Tomato and Lentil Soup. It didn't work out that way.......and it didn't taste all that great. Skipping it in the future, for sure.

Dinner.......much better! It was rough fitting all of this cooking in, because I had to finish decorating for a Tinker Bell Party over here at the house, plus have the party. Little hard to balance it all, but it worked out, because I was able to get that Marinara Sauce cooked up while I was making my lunch today. The Slimmer Marinara Sauce was used for my pizzas, and will be used again in future recipes in the days ahead.

Pepperoni Pizza with Turkey Pepperoni.......different for me, but delightfully tasty. Especially after a lackluster lunch attempt! The pepperoni actually tasted like real pepperoni. Happiness throughout the land......

So far, I don't think I've lost any weight though......at least, not that I can feel. I might have to step on a scale in the morning, see if there's any weight dropping off.....

Stay tuned.........
