Did you hear me laughing?

On Wednesday, around 3 in the afternoon, did you happen to hear someone laughing? Yeah, well that was me. If you didn't hear me laughing, I'm shocked, because I've never laughed so hard in all my life.

Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I pick my daughter up at school. Most days I drive her home........on the rare days she's acting up, I make her walk while I laugh at her from the car.........KIDDING, just checking to see if you're still out there. I hate when I write and all I get is CRICKET NOISES OUT THERE.

Yes, that is a subtle hint we need more comments on this blog, my friends. I feel lonely......

Anyway, back to Wednesday at 3pm EST. Little Miss, The Boy, and I came through our garage door, into the house, and as we do every day, we feed the dog, and then go through the backpacks. Now, it could have been a little after 3PM, but it was around 3PM, when I opened up my daughter's little yellow folder from school.

Lovely, she did some coloring AGAIN, and some math, good, good, at least something educational is happening at the school. Oh and wait, what's this?

And that's when the laughing started. Tears streaming down my face, belly burning, laughing until I had to pee LAUGHTER. Little Miss and The Boy looked at me for a second, and then just went back to what they were doing. He was eating more crackers (because that's all he wants to eat these days,) and she went back to writing her spelling words three times each.

They are use to Mommy and her freakish outbursts.

All I wanted to do was text my friend Kim, who was probably thinking of me when she, too, opened up her daughter's folder and saw what was in it.

Yes, the photo is MINE. I am also November Sunflower.

Why is this so funny? If you know me at all, you'll understand, but if you aren't familiar with me, let me explain.

My idea of a recipe goes a little something like this:

Every and All Meals Recipe
  1. Open Freezer
  2. Remove pre-made meal husband prepared
  3. Set Toaster Oven to 350 degrees
  4. Place pre-made meal in Toaster Oven
  5. Try NOT to burn the following:
  • Yourself
  • The Food
  • The House Down
Now, I know many people would love to get this recipe from me, it's a real doozy. Nonetheless, I'm sure that's not what the elementary school's PTA were thinking about when they sent these things home on Wednesday........

It MIGHT be in their best interests if I pass this one off to the hubby. Unless they would make more money with my recipe book......it would be a lot cheaper to print, and would probably be a great comedy relief for many of the uptight moms at our school. Or not, who knows? Perhaps they already know this recipe, and my other favorite one!

Let's Get Crazy Meal Recipe
  1. Pick up phone
  2. Dial phone
  3. Order take-out once person on other end picks up
  4. Send husband to pay for, and pick-up, the take-out order
  5. IF no husband, or significant other, have it delivered
  6. Hang up phone
  7. Alert kids that dinner will be ready in about 20 minutes
This recipe can be followed for any local place you love. Chinese, Pizza, Deli, even some Greek and Italian places will do delivery if you have to follow step 5. Still can't find a Mexican place that delivers, but I will......just give me time!

  1. Hahaha we must be soul sisters. I got a note home about a "Bake Sale" that my youngest needed to bring in "cakes, cookies, or cupcakes" for. Sooo... I promptly called the bakery, ordered a dozen, and voila.

    Right.

Till I got a call from the teacher that *I* was supposed to be the one doing the baking. Right. As I thanked her for a great laugh I am sure I heard her say "take her off the list for next time."
