Save the Drama for Your Mama? But she's my kid!

My Little Miss. Drama Mama already. Today she was very excited because her buddy Liam was having a birthday party to celebrate his second birthday. Now, Little Miss is almost four and The Boy is almost 2, but for some reason, Little Miss and Liam hang together much better. Go figure. Plus, Liam's Mommy is one of my Little Miss's favorite people in all the world. She also happens to be one of my favorite people, too, which is why she's my closest gal pal in all the world.
I want to leave this room, Mommy.
We arrive and run to the potty, as she had been holding it in for quite a while. We come out and head to the party, where we first start in this "game room." She liked putting tokens in the machines to play the games.
Little Miss actually won Silly Bandz twice from one of the games. Very cool. The Boy loved doing basketball and bowling games. All was right in the world.
And then, it was time to leave that room and enter the Bounce room. In the Bounce room all must wear socks. No sneakers. Well, Little Miss isn't a "just socks" kind of gal. Never has been. She's always wanted sneakers, shoes or slippers on her feet......so the Drama came out. The Boy went off with Daddy and joined the Bounce fun.....while Little Miss moped around, stating she wanted to leave this room and put her sneakers back on. I told her no. She refused to do any of the bounce stuff. Not with me, not with Daddy, not with The Boy. NOBODY.
Over on the far end of the room was a plastic slide, no bounce necessary. She went over there and played on the slide for a while. Then I dragged her around to try to get her to join the fun.......nope. I asked what she wanted and she said "I want to hang out with Hogie." (Hogie is my gal pal that Little Miss adores, also known as Liam's Mommy.)
Little Miss and her Hogie.
I found my friend and instantly my Little Miss brightened up. Hogie asked if she wanted to go in the obstacle course with her and WITHOUT HESITATION, off she went. Can you believe that? Didn't even look back and Mommy who was putting up with her Drama - just off and went with her beloved Hogie. UGH. Save the drama for your Mama is definitely not fun when it's your kid!
The moral of the story? Next time, I'm heading straight to Hogie to start the day off! I'll hang with the birthday boy instead!
