During the week, after another snow storm here on Long Island, I decided to make a roast chicken my husband got on sale at the supermarket. We had planned on doing it over the weekend, but I figured, I was going to be home and the kids weren't going anywhere - let's throw it in!
Of course, my husband was like "but where are the potatoes" because what's a roast without potatoes in there. Unfortunately, due to my lack of real cooking, our potatoes had grown roots out of their eyes and sadly, had gotten soft and gross. I told him SUCK IT UP and make mashed potatoes from a box for tonight.
One of the many reasons I don't cook often is because my husband rarely appreciates it and the kids don't eat what I make and end up eating cereal. I've got enough to do that I don't get appreciated for, so I tend to NOT COOK meals from scratch. It's his own fault, because he is also a SUPREMELY picky eater.
Anyway, enough about me and my fellow Aries. Onto the roast chicken and potatoes and of course, creamed corn my husband makes from a can.
Little Miss....she ate the chicken, FINALLY. She tried the mashed potatoes and promptly spit them out. LOVELY child. The boy, he actually LIKED the potatoes with the creamed corn on them. Amazing. But did not enjoy the chicken!

I hate fighting with kids when it comes to food lol! "migraine" is right!
ReplyDeleteEschelle-totally not into the fighting at meal time. It's become a little easier now. I don't know why, but we started just telling the kids they had to try it once, then they could eat cheerios for dinner. I'm not into sitting and hovering over them while they have a full plate of food and eat rice sized bites of it.
