Today we made the long drive to visit Santa. No, not to the North Pole, but to Glen Cove, which to my kids, felt like we were traveling all the way to the North Pole.
Each year we get to have a great afternoon with family, enjoying the Santa that comes to the neighborhood where my brother-in-law grew up. Santa comes by Fire Truck and sits at the end of the block, listening to all the kids ask for "stuff" for Christmas.
Of course, my kids, didn't want to sit on Santa's lap. TYPICAL. Normally my son loves Fire Trucks, didn't want to go anywhere near it today. Little booger.
In any event, it was fun. The kids got to spend time with their cousins. They drew, played games and amazingly took to playing with the Wii system a little too fast and easily.........and NO, they won't be getting that anytime soon. I'm not a video game console kind of chick. I'd rather the kids play. Outside. And we'll do that for as long as we can!
While there, we had lunch. The Little Miss had macaroni, since she doesn't eat bagels or pizza. The Boy, Pizza and Garlic Knots. My little Italian Stallion. ME? I had a whole wheat bagel with a little butter. Was it perfect? NO. But it was a whole grain, so we did good.
Before we left on our journey to see Santa, I had my morning shake and all my goodies in the shake, so I knew I'd be fine for most of the morning. And honestly, I had no interest in the donuts, cookies, chocolate, munchkins or hot cocoa. I was happy with the bagel.
Now I'm wondering if I'll even be interested in all the stuff during the holidays........I didn't even have the urge to reach for any of the stuff out, even the garlic knots, which I normally would eat half a dozen of by myself.
I guess my body knows better, now! Hoping the kids can take to this new meal plan, too. Not give up all the fun stuff, but at least get them on the same page as me. Less garbage, more whole foods. We'll get there.
Today, though temptation was there, it really didn't tempt me at all. BIG step in the road to better health and oodles of wealth!
Thanks to you Isagenix!
