Health and Wealth 30-Day Part Two - Day 10: Even at my worst

Oh, it's been a rough week this week. I could NOT take the sinus infection pain anymore. I called my doctor to let her know that the silly Z-Pack did not work and I needed something else. She said I had to come in before she'd prescribe me anything. I told her, forget it. I'm going to have to find another doctor. I just found them a year ago, they seemed so great. And then I decided to take my health COMPLETELY away from them, and somehow they don't like it as much anymore.

So I went to an urgent care. I just could not take the pain anymore, and I knew I needed a stronger antibiotic. Well I found out a whole lot more, my friends! I wish this doctor at the urgent care was set up in a private practice, but he isn't. POO!

Here's what the urgent care doctor informed me:
  • Z-Pack doesn't always work with sinus infections. When you take the Z-Pack for five days, it's suppose to stay in your system for 10 or something. Many people metabolize things in their bodies faster than others, so the Z-Pack is not the answer for MY BODY. Mine runs at the OPTIMUM level, since I use Isagenix. My DOCTOR should have paid attention to this when I told her I was on Isagenix. She didn't.
  • I should have also been given ideas on how to get rid of the mucus. Antibiotics will cover the infection, but if I don't get everything cleared out, it will just build back up and cause the infection to return. I should have been using a netty pot, or done steam with the towel over my head, or SOMETHING to help.
Well, now I am on a stronger antibiotic, that will stay in my system each day, because I take a pill in the morning and a pill at night. I'm also doing some major steam action to help loosen and get rid of the mucus building up from the allergies that never went away, due to our crazy weather around Long Island. It never got cold enough to kill everything, so my allergies never subsided, hence the build up of the mucus, my cough and now, the infection.

Moral of the story? I should have never been prescribed that stupid Z-Pack. It wasn't going to work with my body. And my DOCTOR is a boob, so I'm currently looking for another one, closer to home, who will LISTEN. Which my doctor had been doing, but once I told her no more cholesterol medication, she seemed like she wanted to sabotage me in some way.

Some doctors, I guess, find Isagenix to be competition, instead of EMBRACING IT and understanding that NUTRITION is MEDICINE. And there is money to be made in NUTRITION, not just money from pharmaceutical companies pushing cholesterol medications, antibiotics that don't work (on some of us) and of course, my favorite, PAIN MEDS.

However, through all of this, I still maintained my weight....so that's a good thing. I've got until the end of February to reach my 110 goal........and I'm not far from it on Day 10, even after all the health issues!

HEALTH and WEALTH for 2012 and MANY years after!!!!

PS-I have a heart condition, so infections in my body are a bit more serious, so I can't always try to "wait it out" and let it flush out of my system. And this infection wasn't leaving anytime soon, though I tried my DARNDEST.
