My haircut looks better on my daughter....WTF?

Seriously. Whenever I get my hair cut, my daughter begs to have hers cut the same way. Now, I can only afford to get my hair cut once a year. Not.Even.Joking. Being a woman, it's the most expensive part of my life! Why? It's not just my hair I have to get cut, but the kid, too!

Last March I went and celebrated my new body with a new hair style. No, I didn't buy the body, I worked for it. Lost a bunch of weight, and I treated myself to a little hair change. My daughter immediately asked to have hers cut that day, too. Just like Mommy.

I knew my husband would have a fit if I got hers hacked off just like mine, so we only did a little. She could still pull it back in a pony tail, and braid it if she wanted to. However, for us ladies, we pay the same price whether it's a trim, or you hack the whole mop off!

My hair cuts are few and far between, because I just can't afford it every 8 weeks like normal women!

Okay, now let us fast forward to 2013........it's March again, time for my yearly hair change-up. I went even shorter than my last cut, and when Little Miss saw it when I got home, she asked when she was getting hers cut, "just like Mommy's."

I could see my husband's face cringe. He wasn't in love with his little girl getting her hair cut so short. I'm not super sure what it is about this happening that bothers him so much, but since he doesn't really take care of her hair, I left it up to Little Miss.

I had already booked her an appointment for the following weekend, figuring she'd want to get it cut once she saw mine. I told her to think about it all week, and we'll decide when she's in the chair how short we would go. However, in the back of my mind, I knew she was not going to change her mind.

All week long Daddy kept telling her all the things she wouldn't be able to do with short hair, that she can do with long hair. She rolled her eyes, and never allowed it to sway her decision. Little Miss stuck to her guns.

Sunday came.....we got one last shot of her with her long hair.

Little Miss with her long locks. Not long enough to donate though.

She was so excited to get her hair cut, she almost didn't say goodbye to Daddy! Never saw her move so fast to get in the car! Amazing.

We checked in, our friend came out to see what Little Miss had decided to do with her hair, and I told her "It's a go for the big show." Off to get her hair washed, and plopped in the chair! Honestly, this has to be one of my favorite photos of my Little Miss. She just couldn't believe I was letting her decide on her own style. The nerves might have started to set in....

However, there was no going back now. The cutting had begun....

What made me a little nervous was seeing her face once most of it was cut off, and her chair was spun around to face me. When I saw the look, I asked her if she was okay, she looked at me and smiled and said "YESSSSSS." If her hair wasn't being cut, she'd have nodded her head off!

Once her hair was blown dry, you could not picture a more happy little girl than my daughter. She couldn't get enough of her image in the mirror. Who could blame her, look at that cut.

Honestly, she looks so much older than six. Her little girl pig tails, and braids have been replaced with a sophisticated young lady.

And my haircut looks better on my daughter.... WTF?

I think Daddy has gotten over the long hair being gone........but now I'm not sure I have! She looks way too grown up, and again, MY HAIRCUT LOOKS BETTER ON HER!!!!

I'm throwing in the towel now, my friends. Her teenage years are going to kill me. Thank goodness she's learning Jiu Jitsu........

    1. Thanks. She is totally in love with it. Even today when she found out the dance teacher wants all the girls in the recital to have high pony tails and curls......

She just smiled and said "not me!"

Totally loved that moment. She was so proud to be the one t stand out!
