Shoe conversation with my daughter

My daughter insists that her shoes aren't too tight. Always, always, ALWAYS. Doesn't matter how many times I ask her "does this feel tight on you?" Every response is "nope, it's fine."

If her toe is popping out the top of the shoe, and I ask her if the shoes are too small on her, she will look me straight in the face and tell me "No, they're fine."

When she likes a pair of shoes, she's going to wear them until they fall apart around her foot, with just the little rubber soles and some stitching keeping them attached to her feet.

She is her mother's daughter. Shoe whore for sure.

Today, while shoe shopping for a new pair of sandals for the Spring and Summer......stop laughing, it's going to come any day now. I don't care that it snowed yesterday on Long Island. It's all good. The sandals will be on our feet in just a couple more days........

That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Back to my "situation." Soooo, we go into the shoe store, and the kids measures my daughter's foot. It's a size 10. She's 6 people, and she's still in a toddler sized 10. Yup. True chizz. Hasn't hit the big kid sizes, still working on the little kid sizes.

She's been jamming her feet into a size 8 and a f*cking half. Yes. I kid you not.

I tell her to find a pair of sandals......she comes back with high heeled open toed shoes. WTF? Where the hell..........for real? In the little kid size 10 and a half section? What child needs to be wearing a f*cking high heel? They will have years to destroy their feet, let's wait until they're at least in middle school, mmmkay shoe companies.

Big no on that those. We find sandals, they fit, awesome. The Boy tried on Cars ones that light up, he said "Yup, 10s are good Mommy, now can I play with the toy?" Done. Simple. MY BOY! Exact opposite of his sister! Night & Day at it again!

I turn around, Little Miss has found Hello Kitty flip flops, and a pretty brown pair of shoes......unreal. She did need flip flops, and the brown shoes are super nice and will replace the brown boots she's been wearing all winter to school....I said yes.

Then I ask her if her sneakers are getting tight. I was trying to remember what size they were, because we left them home. She said they were fine. Of course, why I bother asking is beyond me.

And then she asks "Do you want new sneakers?" All sweet, and sugary, to make it like it was my decision to buy them so when Daddy asked about all these new shoes, she could bat her eyes and say "But mommy insisted I needed new sneakers for Tennis."

A fellow shopper started chuckling, and said "My daughter says the same thing."

I smiled, nodded, and said "I'm so glad I'm not the only one dealing with this kind of nonsense all the time. I like that others can feel my pain!"

Yup, just another day of shoe conversation with my daughter.
