Coloring "his way"

I lovingly refer to my son as not just The Boy, but as The Moose. Because he just is a Moose. Big, strong and pushes right through everything with his head down! He's taking a bit of time to walk, but that is totally my fault. I have very slick wood floors and my poor son just did not have the proper shoes and grippy socks to master the fine art of walking. It's been a bit of a struggle, but he's doing it. Little by little, each day, he is more brave and takes an extra step or two by himself.
Recently, he has been spending time in his sister's room while I get her dressed in the morning. The other day, I looked over and he had managed to not just pull himself up, but was now on his toes reaching for the crayons in the pocket of her easel. He got one, so I just watched before I took it away. He looked at it, looked at me and turned to the easel and tried to draw. Of course, he was using the wrong side of the crayon, but he turned to me with such pride and did his "ta-da" pose, then with crayon in hand took off to her bookshelf to find a coloring book. Then "colored" in there, with the wrong end and once again turned to me and did the "ta-da" pose.
If you don't know this pose, it is basically a big smile, his hands up like a cheerleader with pom-poms and always ends with his little face beaming up towards the ceiling. As if to tell those who have passed on in our lives, "hey, check it out folks, I wouldn't want you to miss this 'ta-da' moment".
But today, he drew on the easel and did his "ta-da" pose, then hustled over to me and held his hand up for a high five. Then went in search of a coloring book, which instead of coloring in, ripped the cover. Little Miss looks at me and says "Well, that's not good. Where's the tape?" Which sent me into giggles, which sent her into giggles and then The Moose into giggles.
Whether standing at an easel, or using a coloring book - I guess The Moose will color "his way". Can't wait to see his face when he actually colors with the right side of the crayons.

PS-we have the crayons that twist out of the plastic. Not the regular crayons. Figured I'd clarify, so you weren't thinking - The Moose and Little Miss have a very dumb mommy!
