I'm not a big lover of leaving my house. I do, because I have to. I run Little Miss to school in the mornings, The Boy in the afternoons. Then I pick them up in the afternoon. I run them to activities and play dates. I run to the store....you get the picture, right?
I'm a damn cab driver, only I drive a minivan that's about ready to slit its own proverbial wrists......
Then it rains, or worse, it snows, and I hate it even more. What's worse? When I have to actually go to something, for work (crazy, I know, writing my November Sunflower blog is SO NOT WORK, but it brings in cash to the family household, so it's called work) it sucks even more.
Now, on Tuesday, I had to head to NYC for a few hours. I was suppose to go into the city with The Boy to a pizza making workshop at Sbarro. It was to celebrate their new Skinny Slice. Lots of fun. The Boy loves to help in the kitchen.....let me rephrase this, so it makes sense: he loves to help his father in the kitchen.
It was all planned, and The Boy got sick. He was not feeling well Saturday evening, did the whole vomit thing while sleeping. No fever. No other issues. I believe big, purple grapes were the reason.....he just can't seem to digest those big, mother grapes.
However, he was up from 2 in the morning, until he crashed on the couch at 10am and slept until about 4pm on Sunday. Which totally messed him up, and then we had just wacky dehydrated craziness happening the rest of Sunday, and on Monday......so of course, hubby stayed home on Tuesday so I could still attend without The Boy. It wasn't the same, he would have had a blast. Kind of sad.
Anywho........
I woke up on Tuesday morning, it was snowing. MOTHERF*CKER. Are you kidding me? Snow? For F*ck's sake! Not only do I have to leave the house, hope there's a parking space at the train station, be on the train for over an hour, then walk from Penn to Sbarro on 49th and Broadway, but now, it's SNOWING?!!!!
And I can't even bring The Boy with me, like planned. UGH.
I seriously hate snow, and having to deal with it on a day I'm going into NYC for an event for work......just not what I wanted to deal with. Whenever the snow starts, the trains do wacky ass shit - like stop running on time, or totally stop running at all.
So here it is: I put on my big girl panties, (and yes, got dressed,) drove to the station where I found a parking spot, was able to use a ticket that was going to expire that day, had a really nice walk from Penn to the restaurant, and proceeded to have the best time making pizza. Seriously, the staff Sbarro employs is fantastic. Just plain fun.
After making pizza, I was given my final product and had to walk up 7th, to Penn, with a huge pizza box. Wait for the train with everyone staring at my pizza box on the floor, and then it got its own seat on the train.........
The snow was still everywhere, and that still sucked, but I'm glad I didn't just pack it in when I saw the snow......
Snow sucks, Pizza Does NOT!
The Boy wanted to try a slice, until I opened the box and he saw stuff on the pizza.......perhaps it would NOT have been a good idea to have him there. He would not have wanted to make a Skinny Slice pizza pie.....and I'd have been thrown out of there on my big girl pantied ass.
