Many of you know that my cousin, Justyn, is now fighting his second battle with Melanoma. He has a form of skin cancer that is inherited. He could have worn sunblock, long sleeved shirts, and long pants, with ten million hats on, and unfortunately, he still would have gotten it.
Soon after they lost their daughter, Tuscany, on February 13, 2010, he was diagnosed with Melanoma. He battled it, won, and went on to have a son, born in March of 2011.
Today we take a day to not just support my American Hero cousin, Justyn, but also, to honor his beautiful daughter, taken from our family before we truly got to know her.
Please, take a moment to wish our Tuscany a happy angel-versary, as she looks down on us, while in the arms of all those who have passed.
It's not a time to be sad, it's a time to remember her, and the strength she has provided to my cousin. He has found an amazing group of friends, who are all joined together in their Stillbirth stories, and loss.
Instead of playing the "why me" card, Justyn and Buckley find the strength to find the meaning in all that happens in their life together. They speak out for those who cannot, and they KEEP MOVING FORWARD.
Please, feel free to leave comments to show your support for my family, and for our angel, Tuscany as well as share your own stories of Stillbirth, Cancer survival, and anything you want really.

ReplyDeleteThank you for loving my cousin, and supporting him through everything. He is loved beyond words by his family, and friends. I'm sorry for the loss of your baby girl, but you will meet her again when it's your time to "go home."
DeleteThanks for your support.
