It's Britney B*tch

Listening to music makes me happy. I need upbeat stuff, and when I'm in the car, I need stuff I can just dance, and sing to.

Before kids, after kids, I still listen to whatever I want.....however, now the kids are singing along with the songs. And The Boy is super accurate when it comes to the lyrics.

The Boy rarely gets the lyrics wrong, and he just mindlessly sings along to the songs......has no clue he's even singing and dancing to the songs. I look in the little mirror, I see him bopping away, singing, while he's focused on his Kindle.

It's kind of the cutest thing ever.

However, I'm starting to think it might not be a good idea to have the kids listening to the regular radio.........

On the way to Jiu Jitsu on Wednesday, a song we hear often came on the radio. It's the Bruno Mars one about your sex taking me to heaven. The kids sang it, almost word for word, never lifting their heads from their Kindles. Mindlessly singing along, bopping their heads, and The Boy even doing some funny little "jazz" hands, and quickly going back to his Kindle.

Okaaaay, not terrible, I guess.

The next song came on. I don't know the name of it, but I know that it's got the guy from Black Eyed Peas, along with Britney Spears. It's got a little beat, and lyrics that are totally harmless........and it kind of sounds like Britney has become British when she sings.

Well, The Boy is in the back singing along.......and it comes to one little lyric that may not be suitable for children.

"It's Will.I.Am and Britney Bitch."

Yup, sweet little four year old, with his Kindle in one hand, and his other hand doing some kind of "dance move" twist of the wrist, and a point thing, loudly singing the line along with the song. He had some head bopping, shoulders going, and his feet tapping on the seat, too.

He had no clue what the song was, or what he was singing, but I lowered the volume, and he was BELTING it out, and not missing one beat.

The hand flourish to emphasize BITCH, well that sent me into hysterics. Good thing it was a red light we were stopped at.

The kid didn't even look up from the Kindle, and as soon as the song was over, the two hands were back on the Kindle.

I guess Britney is his bitch.........

What's the Disney channel's station on the radio? Might have to make the change..........or get some Kidz Bop CD's - you know the ones. Kids sing all the popular songs on the radio, but without words like bitch.

I mean, the kids hear enough crap language from me, they don't need to be singing, right?
